Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman, Director of the Psychology Department and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for initiating the contemporary scientific study of children's memories of eyewitnesses and children's victimes as witness in court contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded several grants and was awarded many national and international distinctions. She has consulted with numerous organizations and government officials across the world regarding policies as well as research on child victims in the legal system. She currently serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of numerous professional associations which include the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is the former President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Policy for Children and Families and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
